Jasmine Crockett Has Blistering Message For GOP Pearl-Clutching Over Hunter Biden Pardon

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) on Sunday gave President Joe Biden props for pardoning his son, Hunter Biden, before knocking Republicans over their hypocrisy.

“Because at the end of the day, we know that we have a 34-count convicted felon that is about to walk into the White House,” Crockett said of Donald Trump in an appearance on MSNBC.

Crockett then directed her attention to “anyone who wants to clutch their pearls” over the president’s decision to pardon his son, who was found guilty in June of illegally owning a gun in 2018 and pleaded guilty in September in a tax case.

“I would say take a look in the mirror because we also know that when it comes to this Cabinet, this Cabinet has more people accused of sexual assault than any incoming Cabinet probably ever in the history of America,” Crockett said in reference to several of the president-elect’s picks to join his administration.

She continued, “So we are living in unprecedented times and we know that this was completely political, as someone who serves on the [House] oversight committee, this was gamesmanship the entire time.”

Crockett has previously slammed those on the GOP-led committee for ensuring that they were “pleasing Trump” through their efforts to investigate the president and his son.

Joe Biden, who repeatedly vowed in the past to not pardon his son or commute his sentences, declared in a statement on Sunday that Hunter Biden was “unfairly” prosecuted and was “singled out only because he is my son.”

He added that his son’s mistakes had been used by Republicans to “publicly humiliate and shame him” along with his family for “political sport.”

The younger Biden was facing a sentence of up to 25 years for the gun charges.

He faced a maximum sentence of 17 years for the tax charges, though sentencing experts predicted he would likely serve no more than 36 months, according to The New York Times.
