'It'll be full': 'Amazing' video shows snake devouring possum
A Queensland woman has posted a series of videos showing a carpet python devouring an entire large possum outside of their family home.
Anna Smith shared the vision in the Townsville Snake Catchers Facebook group and said she spotted it on Wednesday morning.
“Amazing seeing this guy having some breakfast this morning at our house in Belgian Gardens,” she wrote along with three short videos.
In the first video the python has coiled itself around the possum as it hangs from a tree and can be seen manoeuvring itself around the animal as it attempts to begin to swallow it.
The next video shows the python has managed to begin to swallow the possum’s head, stretching its mouth around it and it slowly moves onto the possum’s body.
The final video shows the python coiling back up the tree with the possum completely swallowed.

Many people in the Facebook group were fascinated by the raw footage showing nature at work.
“Part of the cycle, thanks for sharing, great footage,” one person said.
“That is one big snake! It will be full for a while,” another person wrote.
“I can’t decide if I’m team snake or team possum. Ahhh nature, how she mercilessly plays with my emotions,” one user responded.
A few people were shocked the snake was able to devour such a large possum and warned Queensland residents to keep an eye on their pets.
“My god! He could pick up a small dog!” one Facebook user wrote.
Earlier this year a Queensland snake catcher was called to separate a python who was about to devour a pet kitten so the owners could bury their beloved cat.
In December last year security vision captured a lucky escape for a new puppy who ventured out to the backyard to use the bathroom and was pounced on by a python.
Luckily for the new pup his owners witnessed the incident and managed to wrestle him free.
