Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's meetings with US President Joe Biden has been postponed last minute due to the crisis situation unfolding in Afghanistan.

Bennett was due to meet with Biden in the White House on Thursday, with Iran's nuclear program high on the agenda.

But these plans could not go ahead as the US leader had to hold emergency consultations on the deadly explosions in Afghanistan.

The Pentagon has confirmed US soldiers are among those wounded in two suspected suicide bombings.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Bennett had already posponed her trip to Israel this weekend before the blasts occurred, citing the mounting crisis in Kabul.

The final German military flights evacuating German nationals and local personnel from Afghanistan took off on Thursday before the attacks. No Germans have been injured in the blasts.
