The phrases ‘free food’ and ‘supermarket juggernaut’ don’t always go together.

But if you’re a member of Woolworth’s exclusive product-testing club, Bunch, the two things are a match made in heaven.

Created to help make better quality products, Bunch allows customers to trial Woolworths products at home for free and then share their feedback, as well as recipes, articles and questions about their food interests.

The best part? It’s completely free to join, with members receiving full-sized portions to test at home.

The only requirement is to share your thoughts.

But there’s one major catch: You have to be invited to join Bunch

Yep. This club is invitation only.

If you want to join, you need to register your interest through the Bunch website. Then, if Woolworths likes the look of you, you’re in.

“Just because someone spends more in Woolworths doesn’t mean they are more likely to be invited,” Woolworths explained.

“If you have received an invitation to join the bunch, it’s because we value your opinion. All customers who are invited to join bunch are carefully selected by their shopping behaviour, life stage, location and spend in store.”

Then, once you’re in, your Woolworths card will automatically recognise the free products you’re eligible to trial. Just go into store and pick them up.

It’s a hot topic on Facebook group Markdown Addicts Australia, with keen shoppers comparing hauls and discussing why or why they weren’t accepted into the club.

“SO excited!! I just got accepted,” one member wrote.

“I only signed up on the 7/6. Don’t give up everyone, you never know when they’ll accept you. Happy shopping addicts.”

Some shoppers had to wait years, while others were accepted within days. Others still had been accepted, but didn’t realise as the email had landed straight in their junk mailboxes.

“I checked my junk mail finally after 1.5 years I got accepted,” a member commented.

“I got accepted as a team bunch so excited,” another member said.

“I’ve had two samples this week chocolate bullets and dishwashing liquid. I’m happy for the chance to try things.”

Good luck, shoppers.
