A popular Instagram influencer has been found stabbed to death inside a suitcase at her apartment, according to police.
Ekaterina Karaglanova, 24, was discovered on Friday at the Moscow apartment when concerned family hadn’t heard from her in several days, the BBC reported.
The Russian national, who is a recently graduated doctor and regularly likened to Audrey Hepburn, had more than 85,000 followers on Instagram, sharing photos of what appeared to be a lavish lifestyle to her account.
It is understood Karaglanova had entered a new relationship recently and police aren’t ruling out jealousy as a possible motive.
Her parents raised the alarm after they failed to make contact with Karaglanova before a holiday to The Netherlands to celebrate her birthday, Russian news outlet Moskovsky Komsomolets reported.
After gaining access to the apartment, she was reportedly found with a slit throat in the hallway, according to the publication.
Police say there was no sign of a struggle inside the apartment. They said a former boyfriend had visited the property in the days before her death but did not elaborate further on whether it was a line of investigation.
Her Instagram account documents her love of travelling, sharing images from a series of desirable European locations including Paris and Santorini.
