When Jenner told Instagram to “stop trying to be TikTok,” it seemed to warrant a response from the app’s head Adam Mosseri. It’s unsurprising. After all, when Jenner declared Snapchat was over in 2018, its stock plummetted and it lost $1.3 billion along with its social currency as the trendiest app.

Mosseri responded to the criticisms but also implied that Instagram would continue to invest in video.
“The second thing I’m hearing a lot of concerns about is photos, and how we’re shifting to video. Now, I want to be clear that we’re going to continue to support photos,” Mosseri said. “That said, I do believe more and more of Instagram is going to become video over time.”
