A pregnant woman in Hawaii vanished in late July and now her husband, a U.S. Army soldier, has been placed in military custody in connection with her disappearance, authorities said.

Mischa Johnson, 19, was last seen on the evening of July 31 inside her home at Schofield Army Barracks in O’ahu and reported missing the next day, according to the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division.

She was six months pregnant when she disappeared.

In an update on Monday, Aug. 19,  the 25th Infantry Division said in a statement that “an individual has been placed into military custody in the Mischa Johnson missing person case."

“Mischa Johnson’s husband, Private First Class Dewayne Arthur Johnson II, is currently in military pretrial confinement in Hawaii," the statement says.

It is unclear if he has been charged under the Uniformed Code of Military Justice. It's not immediately clear if he has retained an attorney.

The Army Criminal Investigation is offering a $10,000 reward for information regarding her disappearance.

Mischa is described as 5 feet 2 in ches, weighing 170 lbs., and of Filipino descent. She has a large dragon tattoo on her back.

Her husband, Dewayne Johnson, who is from Frederick, Md., enlisted in the United States Army and attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Moore, Ga., in November 2022.

He was assigned to 25th Infantry Division in June of 2023 and serves as a Cavalry Scout.

“Our efforts remain focused on locating Mischa, support to her family, and the safety and security of all personnel at US Army Hawaii installations,” the statement continues.

“This is a current and ongoing investigation and no further information is available at this time.”

The statement continues: "We encourage anyone who may have information regarding Mischa Johnson to contact the Pacific Field Office at 808-208-0059."
