Insane moment man wrestles with alligator to save small dog
A man has been filmed wrestling his dog from the jaws of an alligator.
The dramatic encounter was caught on camera on October 25 in Florida after Richard Wilbanks’s dog Gunner was taken into the water by the predator.
In the video, Mr Wilbanks emerges from the water clasping the alligator’s jaws with his hands as Gunner howls in pain.
Mr Wilbanks groans as he eventually frees his furry little mate and Gunner runs away to safety.
He later told local news outlet WINK the alligator came at his dog “like a missile”.
Mr Wilbanks said he gave “no second thought” to rescuing his dog, adding: “He had one little puncture wound.”

The video was shared on TikTok with people in shock at the “insane” events that transpired.
One man called Mr Wilbanks a hero.
“He just saved this dog’s life,” one woman wrote.
Another woman called Mr Wilbanks “a true dog lover”.
“Dogs are family,” another man wrote.
“Mad respect. I would have done the same thing or attempted to.”
