Innovative feature at McDonald's restaurant in China goes viral

Let's face it, McDonald's might be a convenient option but it's not exactly good for the waistline.

One enterprising McDonald's store in China has apparently sought to tackle that problem for its customers by offering them the chance to break a sweat while they enjoy their meal.

And we're not just talking about the meat sweats.

A viral video has become a sensation on TikTok, showing a woman dining at a McDonald's restaurant which boasts tables that double as exercise bikes.

As the woman chows down on a burger and drink, she burns some extra calories by pedalling away.

The video appears to be filmed by a passerby. "McDonald’s in China, I loved the idea," the caption translates to.

Posted on TikTok, the clip has been viewed millions of times and attracted more than 35,000 comments in just a couple of days from users of the popular video sharing app.

Some people mocked the idea, saying the woman was consuming more calories than she could hope to burn but others loved the "McFitness" concept.

"This concept is amazing," one TikTok user commented.

"Only order water and workout for an hour," another joked.

The video has since circulated on social media with unverified claims that it was filmed in Shanghai.

It might not be everyone's idea of an enjoyable meal, but it's still better than the salad menu.
