Incredible story of missing woman's rescue after desperate SOS message

A woman who went missing during a camping trip near Adelaide has been found after her SOS message was spotted on a private CCTV camera.

Deborah Pilgrim, 55, disappeared on Sunday morning in Sedan, about 100km northeast of Adelaide, where she had been camping with friends.

A wide-scale search of the area was set to resume for a fourth day, utilising resources including a police helicopter, mounted operations, SES volunteers and drones, before police were alerted to an SOS message spotted by a local.

Ms Pilgrim was found on Tuesday about midnight after nearby property owner Neil Marriott noticed on CCTV footage that someone had written SOS in the driveway of his bush block.

"I put two and two together and called police,” Mr Marriott told ABC Radio Adelaide on Wednesday morning.

“By the time they were able to get out there it was dark, so they found the SOS on the ground but then they also found a hoodie jacket which obviously belonged to the lady," Mr Marriott added.

Police said Ms Pilgrim was found alive and well on a neighbouring property, where she had access to water.

She was taken to Angaston Hospital "as a precaution" but returned home on Wednesday morning.

"I would like to thank everybody who has helped to find Deb," Ms Pilgrim’s partner told media.
