A woman who had all her teeth removed due to drug addiction has revealed an amazing transformation.
Brittany Negler, 29, of Philadelphia, turned to drugs after her brother died.
“For the longest time, I thought I killed my brother,” she says in an Instagram video.
“I just want to eat again.”
The 29-year-old says she believed she killed her brother while he was coping with a serious illness and relying on intubation tubes, something she was later told by her parents wasn’t true.
Ms Negler had all her teeth removed after a dentist determined they could not be fixed. She weighed just 35kg when she went to visit Dr Kenny Wilstead.
She sobs as she tells him “I wore baggy clothes”, revealing she’s wearing three t-shirts and a jumper.
The 29-year-old says she went to a “dark place” and turned to drugs.
She was eventually able to go clean but not long after, a trip to a dentist revealed her teeth couldn’t be fixed and had to be removed - something she believes the dentist “made up”.
Ms Negler says she’s embarrassed to leave the house, her face is gaunt and people refer to her as a “crackhead”.
Dr Wilstead tells her he’s going to “put her back together”.
The 'incredible' transformation complete
Video shows him installing dentures in Ms Negler’s mouth.
Her transformation complete, she looks into a mirror and bursts into tears, embracing the dentist for giving her her smile back.
The pair are later seen enjoying a meal at a restaurant called Snuffers.
It’s not clear how much Ms Negler paid for her dentures.
But viewers on Instagram were in awe of her transformation with many reduced to tears.
“Wow, I’m bawling,” one woman wrote.
Another woman wrote “she looks amazing”.
“What a beautiful transformation,” she wrote.
Others called Dr Wilstead’s work “amazing”.
“Incredible work,” another woman wrote.
“Congratulations. Her story is just heartbreaking but now she is stunning.”
