I’m A Celebrity's Dean McCullough has put himself in the firing line after quitting his very first Bushtucker Trial.

The Radio 1 presenter shouted "I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!" after earning just two stars for camp, during the Egyptian-themed task in which he was locked in a sarcophagus which was then filled with mealworms and crickets around his head.

Fans claimed that by giving up on the trial and leaving his fellow celebrity campmates hungry, the Northern Irish radio DJ is now set to be voted for every Bushtucker Trial. Other viewers were concerned for his wellbeing.

In the latest episode of the ITV jungle reality show McCollough was locked in a sarcophagus while hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly asked him Egyptian trivia questions to earn stars and meals for camp. McCullough was worried about being locked into the upright tomb, and about his general knowledge about Egypt.

McCullough, 32, admitted he had claustrophobia and was dreading the trial. He managed to answer two questions while his head chamber was filled with live meal worms and crickets.

But when his legs were buried in sand, trapping him the sarcophagus he broke down in tears and shouted "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here." He was helped out of the box shaking by Ant and Dec, while they teased him by asking him all the questions he would have had to answer, revealing he knew most of the answers.

McCullough said "You're sick!" When Ant and Dec said: "See you tomorrow", McCullough did a double take and asked what they meant. The cheeky Geordie duo said: "In camp." McCullough said he was relieved and he had thought they were implying he was automatically up for the next trial.

Later in the episode McCullough and Youtuber GK Barry learned they had both been chosen to do the next trial Drown In The Dumps.

Viewers were unimpressed with McCullough for calling: "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here." Many vowed to vote him for more tasks.

One wrote on social media platform X: "Guess who's doing a trial tomorrow embarrassing isn't the word man. #ImACeleb" Another said: "Well that’s him doing trials for the rest of his time in camp" One viewer commented: "Pathetic, guess who’s getting my 5 votes tonight".

Someone posted: "Oh ffs that’s Dean being up for every single trial now This is so put on for more screen time.." And another tweeted: "Oh that's it Dean to be nominated everytime".

But some felt sorry for McCullough, who they thought was having a panic attack after the trial.

One posted: "He had a panic attack. Feel bad for him" Another shared: "I do feel bad for him you can see the fear in his eyes" And another viewer wrote: "Really feel for Dean! Am in pieces for him. It’s all too much and especially the claustrophobia"

Loose Women's Jane Moore had some viewers confused by wearing her t-shirt with her name on the front. The celebrities all wear a uniform in camp: red trousers, red fleeces and blue t-shirts with their names printed on the back to identify them.

But as The Sun columnist and TV presenter chatted to Youtuber GK Barry about social media trolling, her name could be seen printed on the front.

One viewer asked: "Had Jane got her top on backwards? The name is meant to be on the back" Another one pointed out: "Jane’s got her top on backwards".

And someone else questioned: "Is anyone going to tell Jane she has her tshirt on backwards?"

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs every night at 9pm on ITV1, STV and ITVX.
