I’m A Celebrity viewers were surprised as it was revealed Rebekah Vardy had trademarked Wagatha Christie.

As Coleen Rooney opened up about Wagatha Christie, she confirmed Vardy owned the phrase — leading to a hilarious Ant and Dec moment.

The saga started in 2019 when Rooney posted a message on social media saying that she had been investigating who had been leaking information about her and claiming that Vardy was the culprit as she famously wrote the leak came from: "...... Rebekah Vardy's account." Vardy denied the claim and sued Rooney, wife of footy ace Wayne, for libel. However, she lost the case.

Rooney is now a camper on Ant and Dec’s ITV reality show and fans were thrilled to hear her spill the beans just a couple of days in. And some were stunned to hear that after losing her 2022 libel case, Vardy trademarked the phrase "Wagatha Christie".

In Monday's show, Ant and Dec joked they couldn't say "Wagatha Christie" because the money would be going into "...... Vardy's account."

Their jokes followed a more serious moment in camp where Rooney discussed Wagatha during a campfire chat with some of her fellow contestants, including Jane Moore and GK Barry. Barry asked the star if she had been scared posting her message, but she replied: “No because I just didn’t think it would have the impact it did, I just did it because I was just that sick and tired of it, it was draining.”

“That was my worst nightmare to go to court,” she said. “I felt like it was like putting on a show for the whole world.”

She shared: “What got me, over the whole thing, was it became a bit of a joke and that’s really disappointing, it wasn’t a joke for me.”

It also came up that Vardy owned the phrase Wagatha Christie. In 2023 she applied to get the phrase registered for trademark in the UK.

As Rooney confirmed that Vardy owned the name – which was coined as both are WAGs and Rooney used Agatha Christie style skills to find out where the leak came from – there was a flurry of gasps and laughter.

“I am shook!” admitted Dean McCullough.

Fans were shocked to hear what Rooney had to say, with one posting on X: “As if Rebekah Vardy trademarked Wagatha Christie.”

“She trademarked Wagatha Christie omg that’s so…” said another.

“I did NOT know that Rebekah Vardy had trademarked Wagatha Christie!” exclaimed someone else.

"Rebekah Vardy trademarking that phrase amused me," posted another fan.

Someone else said: "Didn’t know who Rebekah Vardy was before this but know I’m loving the Rebekah Vardy slander #ImACeleb."

Another added: "Rebekah Vardy getting absolutely rinsed on the show tonight, and I’m all for it. Magnificent!"

Someone else said: "Rebecca Vardy is fuming watching #ImACeleb #ImACelebrity."

Others posted messages saying how gripped they were listening to Rooney tell her story. One shared a GIF of a woman eating popcorn as they joked: "The whole of the nation listening to Coleen Rooney spilling the T on Rebekah Vardy."
