A father from Central Queensland is still in shock after discovering he is one of Australia’s latest millionaires in the final Lotto Megadraw of 2019.
“I’ll be spending the day thinking I need to pinch myself,” the man in his 40s, who wishes to remain anonymous, told The Lott.
The Rockhampton man held one of the 11 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto’s $30 Million Megadraw, draw 4011 on December 28 .
Each lucky division one winning entry took home a prize of $2,727,272.73.
When a lotto officials called the man this morning, the multi-millionaire confessed he knew he had won but was struggling to believe just how big his prize was.
“I saw I had a win but initially didn’t see how much and didn’t think that much of it. But then one of my family members checked it and saw I’d won division one,” he said.
The regular player bought his winning entry online at TheLott.com with a 50-game QuickPick and is now dreaming of a white Christmas next year.
“There will be a trip overseas at some point, I’m thinking a white Christmas with the family next year,” he said.
The overnight millionaire told officials he plans to return to work after the new year.
“You’ve still got to do something with yourself otherwise you’ll go crazy,” he declared.
Until then he plans to “enjoy the new year” but said he is also keeping his feet on the ground.
“I’m going to keep a level head with this. It will make a difference to lots of people, to my family,” he said.
The Central Queensland man is one of the five division one winners from Queensland from the weekend’s $30 Million Megadraw.
