A devastated husband has paid tribute to his wife after the mum of three was tragically killed in a hit-and-run last week.
Keita Mullen, 30, was crossing a road with another woman along a street in Doncaster, UK, around midnight on Sunday when the pair were struck by a car, South Yorkshire Police said.
The vehicle fled the scene as police were called, according to officers.
Ms Mullen, whose children are aged 10, 5 and 4 months, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other woman, 33, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Days after her heartbreaking death, Ms Mullen’s husband Tom Mullen posted an emotional tribute to his “best friend” and vowed to take care of their kids.
“Literally my best friend for more than half my life, nothing will ever be the same without you!” he wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.
“Beautiful inside and out, so immensely talented and the best mummy in the world!
“I promise you I’ll take care of our babies, raise them exactly how you wanted and make sure they never forget just how special you are.
“We all love and miss you so much Keits…forever [and] ever.”
The grieving husband’s post included pictures of the couple as teenagers, and smiling on their wedding day. It also featured images of Ms Mullen hugging her young children while on holiday.
Loved ones and strangers from across the world have shared their condolences.
Many people called Ms Mullen’s death “absolutely heartbreaking” and said she will be sorely missed.
The mum ran a business that provided balloon decorations for events.
