Hunt for violent offender after woman knocked unconscious while jogging

A woman was knocked unconscious while going for a jog at Wavell Heights, about 12 kilometres north of Brisbane on Tuesday.

When the 36-year-old regained consciousness, she discovered she’d been robbed, with her bum-bag and shoes missing. Her attacker is still on the run.

The woman was jogging on a footpath at about 8pm when she was hit on the head from behind.

She was treated for head injuries at the Prince Charles Hospital in Chermside, north of Brisbane.

The woman was running between Kuran and Calga Street in an area bordered by Wavell Heights State School and family homes.

There are no lights or security cameras along the path, so investigators are hoping residents in the area may have seen the person responsible for Tuesday night’s attack or even captured them on their own dash cams or CCTV.

As they search for the offender, they’re urging the community to stay alert.
