A hunt is underway in a Brisbane suburb for two people clad in high-vis and clown masks who allegedly invaded a home and shot a man in the face.

Police were called to a house in Bray Park on Saturday afternoon, after reports of a break in.

A 51-year-old man inside the home was allegedly threatened, then shot in the face as he chased off the intruders, police say.

The man was lucky to escape with minor injuries to his forehead.

A crime scene has been set up, as police search for two men in their 20s believed to be responsible for the attack.
