Hunt for wedding crasher 'preying on unsuspecting families'

A manhunt is underway for a “wedding crasher” police wish to speak to after expensive gifts were allegedly stolen from ceremonies.

Comal County Sheriff’s Office in the US state of Texas is hoping to identify a woman who is suspected of being involved in a series of wedding thefts.

“This elusive suspect has been dubbed ‘The Wedding Crasher’,” a post on the Comal County Crime Stoppers Facebook page said.

“The Wedding Crasher has been frequenting wedding events not only in Comal County, but surrounding counties as well, preying on unsuspecting families and friends.

“The suspect arrives uninvited to weddings, poses as a guest then steals the gifts.”

Police said they were appealing for help to identify the suspect “before she strikes again”.

A reward of US$4000 (A$5888) is being offered for information that can help identify the suspect.

“Let’s not let her ruin anyone else’s special day and bring this crasher to justice before she strikes again,” the Facebook post said.
