The search is on for 11 potential millionaires who are yet to claim lottery prizes dating back as far back as 2015.

The Lott on Tuesday put out a call for people to come forward and claim prizes with 22 entries worth more than $22.7 million. The entries were purchased from stores across the country and include winnings ranging from $100,000 to $4.8 million.

Spokesperson Lauren Cooney said people should check their tickets.

“From old shopping bags and fridge doors, to car glove boxes and sock drawers, Aussies certainly have a history of storing winning lottery tickets in weird and wonderful places,” she said.

“We’ve had past division-one winners come forward months and even years after the draw after finding an old ticket in the back of a drawer, in the central console of their car, and at the bottom of their handbag.”

One lucky Queenslander has potentially had a ticket worth $1 million in their wallet or purse for nearly six years after winning Saturday Gold Lotto’s division-one prize on June 20, 2015.

Two other entries, also bought in Queensland, are each worth $1 million after being drawn in December 2016.

A winning entry from Victoria has a month to claim their $4.8 million prize before it gets handed over to the Victorian State Revenue Office. After it’s handed over they will need to submit a claim for the winnings.

The Lott is also urging a winner from South Australia who won Saturday Lotto X last year to come forward.

In South Australia, winners have 12 months to come forward and claim their winnings from SA Lotteries before they are handed over to the Lotteries Commission of South Australia where they can still be claimed, but it comes at a cost.
