Hundreds of people have gathered to pay tribute to a 10-year-old girl who died in a mudslide.

Leah Harrison died while on a trip with Mount Pleasant Primary School to Carlton Bank, North Yorkshire, on Wednesday.

Friends and family came together near Cockerton Park in Darlington on Monday to pay their respects, before releasing balloons in Leah's memory.

Those who attended said the display "showed how much she meant" to the community.

Leah, who was described by her family as a "happy, bubbly, go-lucky little girl", was also a keen footballer who had dreams of playing for England as a Lioness.
