In response to the rise in public anti-Asian hate crimes, hundreds of Asian American business leaders signed an open letter that ran as a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal.

Leaders called for an end to violence and racism against the Asian American community. They also pledged a $10 million donation over the next year to the Asian Pacific Fund.

“I believe businesses and business leaders can play a meaningful role to positively impact society,” Alicia Yoon, founder and CEO of Peach & Lily, said in a statement.

“As an Asian American business leader, I’m proud to partner with many other Asian American business leaders on this initiative to help end hate and violence against the Asian community. Please join us to spread the word, donate and help make America a safer place for the Asian community.”

Other participants are beauty industry leaders.

Names include Vicky Tsai, CEO of Tatcha; Katrina Lake, CEO and Cofounder at Stitch Fix and Wen Zhou, CEO and Founder at 3.1 Phillip Lim. Also, Amy Liu, Founder/CEO at Tower 28 Beauty; Liah Yoo, CEO at Krave Beauty; David Yi, CEO at Good Light and Soyoung Kang, CMO at eos Products.
