Human body parts found in bag on street outside houses in Dublin

Human body parts have been discovered in a bag in a residential area of Dublin.

Irish police said human limbs were found outside houses in Coolock in the north of the city.

The remains were found at the junction of Moatview Gardens and Moatview Drive in Coolock by a group of teenagers at about 10pm on Monday.

Gardaí have launched an investigation and the scene of the grim discovery has been sealed off.

The force has appealed for witnesses to come forward.

In a statement, it said: “Gardaí are seeking any persons who have concerns for a loved one who they have not heard from in the last number of days to contact them at Coolock Garda Station.

“Gardaí continue to identify the human body parts with the assistance of Forensic Science Ireland.

“Gardaí wish to speak with any person who may have been in the Moatview Gardens/Drive area of Coolock or in any adjoining roads between 9.30p.m. and 10p.m. last night Monday 13th January, 2020.

“In particular, Gardaí are seeking assistance from all road users who may have dashcam footage in their vehicles which may assist investigating Gardaí.”
