Huge rattlesnake terrifies family as it swims onto their boat
A family spending the day out on the water have been left a little rattled after they spotted a sizeable snake swimming directly towards their boat.
Wayne Robbins and his family were enjoying a glorious summer’s day on Fontana Lake in North Carolina when a timber rattlesnake identified their speedboat as a nice place to relax.
His terrified children can be heard screaming at him to drive as the curious snake approached.
Much to their horror, it eventually found a way onboard, albeit only briefly.
A gentle move-along from the brave dad saw the snake continue on his way.
“This is our second time at that lake and the first timber rattlesnake we’ve ever encountered,” he told NBC12.
Rattlesnakes, more specifically timber rattlesnakes are capable of swimming on the water’s surface as well as underneath it.
