The biggest night to celebrate the best in TV is here, with the Emmys 2024 just hours away. The famed FX series Shōgun leads the pack with Emmy Award nominations, 25 in total, while The Bear starring Jeremy Allen White and Canadian Matty Matheson is close behind with 21 nominations.

Additionally, Only Murders in the Building is heading into the ceremony with 21 nods. While HBO's True Detective: Night Country is up for 19 awards.

Setting us off on a great night for TV lovers will be Canadian hosts, the legendary father-son duo Eugene Levy and Dan Levy. The only father-son pair to host the Emmys.

"It really comes down to wanting it to feel celebratory, not wanting it to be too hard but still wanting a bit of an edge," Dan told the LA Times about preparing for the hosting role. "People, from what I’ve been told, are kind of excited that we’re not hard-edged comics, that there will be a kind of warmth to the room. It’s trying to marry all of those things without being boring, ultimately."

"[It’s] also just paying tribute to television, certainly the nominees, but to the medium that gave us both our starts," Eugene added. "It’s always hit me in a funny way when jokes are done at the expense of people who are nominated — they’ve put in the work, and it’s their night, really, and you have to have enough respect for the awards show itself. Otherwise, why are we here?"

"You want it to be funny, but it’s maybe a kinder, gentler approach. It’s true, we’re not comedians, but we’re kind of funny working together. It’s a relationship that was forged on 'Schitt’s Creek,' and it seems to continue. It really works for both of us, and I guess for whoever said, 'Come on and do it.'"

The 2024 Emmy Awards will be held this Sunday, Sept. 15.

The Emmy Awards will air at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT.

TheEmmy Awards will air live on ABC in the U.S., and CTV in Canada.

In the U.S., the Emmy Awards will be available for streaming on Hulu from Sept. 16 to Sept. 22. While the same streaming option won't be available for Canadians, the ceremony can be watched live on CTV.ca and the CTV app.
