Horror as woman dies after found with burns

A woman has died after emergency services found her in a stairwell with burns to her body.

Emergency services found the woman, 44, about 3pm on Monday after being called to a unit complex on Vicliffe Ave in Sydney’s south west.

After being treated for burns at the scene, the woman was transported to Concord Hospital where she died later that day.

The woman is yet to be formally identified.

Campsie Police Area Command established a crime scene and initially investigated, however they are now treating the incident as self harm.
