The homicide squad have launched an investigation after a woman’s body was found at an adult club in Melbourne’s inner-west.

Police were called to a Cowper Street property in Footscray for a welfare check just after 8pm on Friday.

A woman was found dead at the scene.

She’s yet to be formally identified.

An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
