A woman has been found dead in a unit in central Brisbane.

Police were called to the Franklin Street unit in the inner-city suburb of Annerley about 9pm on Thursday.

The woman was already dead when they arrived.

A 53-year-old man – who is known to her and was at the unit when police arrived -has been speaking to police.

A crime scene has been declared and investigations to determine the cause of death of the woman are ongoing.
