Horror crash kills two and injures six, including children
Two women have died in a head-on crash on the Barton Highway near the ACT border.
Two vehicles collided at Wallaroo about 7.45am on Friday, with two female passengers from the same vehicle – aged 34 and 36 – dying at the scene, NSW Police said.
The 39-year-old man driving that vehicle was taken to Canberra Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, along with two girls, aged 22 months and 16, and an eight-year-old boy.
A 12-year-old girl who was also in the first vehicle was taken to Canberra before being flown to Prince of Wales Hospital in a serious condition.
The 65-year-old man behind the wheel of the second vehicle was taken to the same hospital, also with non-life threatening injuries.

A third vehicle was involved in the smash, but its driver and passengers were uninjured, police said.
Part of the highway was closed for seven hour as crash investigators examined the scene.
