Horrifying road rage attack sees two men trade blows in middle of busy road

Horrified witnesses have captured a wild brawl between drivers in the middle of one of Sydney’s busiest roads.

Traffic appeared to come to a halt on Parramatta Road at Strathfield on Wednesday evening as two men, one in a white BMW and one in a truck, started arguing outside their vehicles.

The incident was filmed by two university students, who claimed the driver of the BMW was zig-zagging through traffic and slamming on his brakes.

They started recording the incident, fearing that they would also become targets of the violence, 7News reported.

In the video, the BMW driver and the tradie exchanged heated words before the altercation turned physical.

The men start shoving each other, before one man throws the other to the ground and lands a flurry of punches.

The tradie’s coworker then runs over and steps in to defend his mate, causing the BMW driver to run behind his car.

As traffic starts moving again, the two men in hi-vis shirts can be seen crowding the driver’s side door of the sedan.

The witnesses told 7News they were almost hit by the BMW’s erratic driving.

“He almost hit us, honestly speaking, because he was overtaking us from the lane which was ending,” one man said.

“The truck driver came down and he tried to make him understand ‘don’t do these things’ but he started like, punching him,” a second witness said.

It is unclear whether anyone was seriously injured.

7News has passed on the footage to NSW Highway and Traffic Patrol, who are investigating the incident.
