The collision occurred in China's Yunnan province on Saturday and resulted in a blazing inferno moments after impact.
Video shows a truck approaching the white car which appears to be waiting for a safe opportunity to overtake another truck while on a bend.
Other trucks can be seen passing in the opposite direction on Huapan Road in Huaning County, as the approaching truck slams into the back of the white SUV, spearing it into the rear of the other truck, severely crushing it in the process.
The truck fails to stop and traps the car underneath it, with both vehicles travelling several hundred metres before coming to a halt.
The truck then bursts into flames.
From preliminary investigations the Public Security Bureau of Huaning County indicated the truck was severely overloaded which may have caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, The Beijing Youth Daily reported.
The driver of the vehicle has been interviewed by authorities however there have been no charges as investigations continue.
A sixth person was injured during the collision and was taken to hospital.
The video of the crash quickly went viral on China's Twitter-like site Weibo after being shared by multiple news outlets, garnering more than 60 million views.
Shocked users lambasted the driving of some truck drivers, which they said was often far too reckless on Chinese roads.
Others suggested the car should have taken precautions when surrounded by so many trucks, keeping its distance from the truck in front.
