Horrifying footage emerges of toddlers in nappies alone on highway after crash
The shocking vision shows the two infants — aged 1 and 4 — walking dazed and confused all alone after the accident.
Heartbreaking images have emerged of the moment two toddlers were spotted alone and in nappies on a highway after being thrown from a car that flipped multiple times during a crash.
The footage, widely circulated on social media, shows the two infants — aged 1 and 4 — walking around seemingly unharmed after the crash, which took place in Freeport in Texas on Sunday.
US authorities said the two-vehicle collision resulted in "one of the cars flipping over several times" causing the "ejection" of the toddlers. "Deputies responded to a major crash on the main lanes of the East Freeway at Freeport. A two-car crash where one of the cars flipped over several times causing ejection," Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Police allege neither child was restrained in the car
In the vision, the two children can be seem walking around confused on the freeway, before one man comes to their aid. Then, the toddlers' 25-year-old father catches on and runs up to the pair, scooping them up off of the road.

One witness Victor Cordova said he at first thought the children were dead. "I saw the little kids laying on the round," he said, 7News reported. "I saw them kind of getting up and moving and trying to get up. I felt a little bit better after that, but I knew there were still some injuries."
A police investigation allegedly found the two toddlers "were not in car seats at all", Harris County Deputy Thomas Gilliland said, adding that they were transferred to hospital immediately after the accident. Officers are now understood to be weighing up charges.
"They were toddlers, a four and one-year-old, and it is against state law to have anyone under that age not in a car seat," Gilliland said. The pair are now in a serious but stable condition. The driver of the other vehicle, the sole occupant, was not injured, officials said.
