Vision of the moment a person tosses a ten-week-old kitten from a car before speeding off has been released in an effort to track down the person responsible.

The horrific act of animal cruelty occurred on January 28 just before 7pm on Floral Drive in Caboolture, Queensland and was captured on a private security camera.

In the video, a black early model Honda CRV or possibly a Hyundai drives to the end of the street before making a u-turn.

Seconds after stopping a small brown tabby kitten is thrown from the passenger window onto the road before the car speeds off.

The kitten looks around but stays in the same spot before a good Samaritan comes outside to investigate.

RSPCA Queensland is asking for any information that may help track down the person or persons in the car.

“We’re not entirely sure of the make but if anyone has any information we’d urge them to call 1300 ANIMAL,” said RSPCA Qld spokesperson Michael Beatty.

The kitten has been examined by a vet and is now with a foster carer who has named him ‘Zuma’. The little feline will require further veterinary assessment before he can be placed with a forever home.
