I met Cornelia Frances when I was 11. I was pretty terrified but she could not have been sweeter and I have always remembered that. Sad day.

David Jones Roberts, who played Xavier Austin on the show, also shared a heartfelt message.
“I had the pleasure of working with the beautiful, amazing, iconic Cornelia Frances. I remember being intimidated, when I was going to shoot my first scene with her,” he wrote.
“As she played such a strong intimidating woman and I had no idea what to expect. Instead she greeted me with a big smile, a big hug and told me stories about working with my dad on Sons and Daughters. Such a lovely woman. You’ll be missed RIP.”
Meanwhile local comedian Joel Creasey tweeted: “I met Cornelia Frances when I was 11. I was pretty terrified but she could not have been sweeter and I have always remembered that. Sad day”.
A Channel Seven statement released to Be on Tuesday morning read: “Cornelia Frances was a unique person.
“Her on screen presence inspired a generation of actors. This gift was coupled with an ability to bring a sense of dignity and presence into each room she entered. Her energy and character will be missed.”
Earlier this year the actress opened up about battling the aftermath of a bladder cancer diagnosis.
She remained optimistic at the time, after her cancer spread to her thigh and back.
“It’s a hard road, but we’ll get there,” she told A Current Affair.
“I’m feeling fine, albeit what’s inside me.”

Cornelia was diagnosed with bladder cancer last year, and it later spread to her back and thigh.
She then broke two ribs due to the swelling of the tumour.
The veteran TV star, famed for her role as Morag on Home And Away, said she wouldn’t give up on fighting the illness.
“I’m really feeling ok,” she said in her interview.

Vale #CorneliaFrances. You were a strong woman at a time when it wasn't entirely cool to be one. Thanks for blazing the trail.

“The pain comes and goes but you expect that,” she continued, adding, “We’re gonna fight it, by god I am”.
Apart from starring in Home And Away, Cornelia is known for her acting roles in The Young Doctors andSons And Daughters.
She was also the host of reality show The Weakest Link.
