Home and Away's Sophie Dillman devastates fans with transformation

The star's new move seemingly confirms exit rumours.

Home and Away fan-favourites Sophie Dillman (Ziggy Astoni) and Patrick O’Connor (Dean Thompson) have been the centre of exit rumours since September last year. The stars, who haven’t altered their hair colour or length for years, recently made some massive changes.

Patrick bleached his hair blonde and Sophie recently dyed her hair a light copper colour. Although the pair haven’t commented on their potential departure, some fans were upset to see Sophie’s latest hair transformation which hints heavily she has left the show.

In a post shared on Instagram on Sunday, the star revealed she had dyed her hair an even darker shade, turning her into a stunning redhead. The bubbly actress was all smiles as she posed with her hairdresser friend Blaise Louise and Lucy Wruck.

“Friday freshen up @by.blaise,” she captioned the snaps.

Her fellow Home and Away stars were quick to send their love, with Nicholas Cartwright (Cash Newman), Lynne McGranger (Irene Roberts) and Ada Nicodemou (Leah Patterson) all liking the post.

Georgie Parker, who plays Roo Stewart, also left a comment saying she ‘loved’ Sophie’s new hair colour. Her fans also flooded the post praising Sophie’s dramatic transformation.

“I love your hair. You look so good, it really suits you,” one fan gushed.

“UM I’m getting some real Charlies Angels/Drew Barrymore vibes,” another added.

“Wow your hair is absolutely stunning,” a third chimed in.

“Wow it looks amazing, love the colour,” another remarked.

There were also a number of fans who deduced this big change meant Sophie has left the show for good. When actors star on long-running TV shows, they are usually prevented from altering their appearance in a big way, unless it’s written into the script.

“So a new hair colour does that mean you leave the bay,” one fan wrote, along with a sad emoji.

“Will miss you both, I reckon you were the best couple ever. Good luck in your new chapter of life,” another commented.

“No you don’t want to be redhead, we love you on [the] show,” a third added.

“You and Dean are the dream team, hope you can come back, why do all stars leave Home and Away,” remarked another.
