Hollyoaks spoilers follow from Tuesday's episode on Channel 4 streaming, which doesn't air on E4 until Thursday.
Hollyoaks' Ste Hay nearly found himself caught out tonight (January 30) as he continues to keep his secret over Ella Richardson's death.
Earlier this month, Ella was killed when Ste accidentally ran her over while rushing to get his unconscious daughter Leah Barnes to hospital.
Since then Ste has struggled with his guilt and even contemplated coming clean about his actions.
Tonight, Ste found a heartbroken Cindy on the bridge after finding out that her boyfriend Dave had taken cocaine prior to his collapse.
Dave had been trying to help Cindy as she struggled with her grief over her niece Ella's death but the stress had caused him to relapse.
On the bridge a tearful Cindy expressed her feelings over losing Ella to Ste, which in turn made him tear up. When he apologised for crying in front of her, Cindy told him she understood why he would be so upset as Ella was close with his daughter Leah and he's probably thinking that, in another universe, it could be Leah who had died.
Cindy then told him to "hold that girl so tight," and tell her he loves her, adding that he was lucky to have such a supportive partner.
As Ste tried to comfort her more, Cindy shared that Theresa McQueen believes she saw another car which must have been involved in the crash but she can't remember any details.
After speaking to Cindy, Ste headed to a narcotics support group where he shared that his life was a mess right now because he did something really bad and the guilt is going to eat him up.
But before he could elaborate any further, Dave was brought into the meeting causing Ste to stop in his tracks.
Did Dave hear enough to arouse suspicion over Ste?
In even more drama for Dave, Cindy proposed to him with the hopes of bringing some joy into their lives but he declined saying he wasn't good enough for her. Where will their relationship go from here?
