The presenter took her summer break early this year on July 6 amid Phillip Schofield’s departure from the ITV stalwart in part to his affair with a younger colleague.
Away from the cameras, she has enjoyed time with her family, notably a sun-soaked break to Portugal with her husband Dan Baldwin and their three children, Harry, Belle and Chester.
Ahead of her ITV return, the 42-year-old reflected on her “blink and you’ll miss it summer” as she detailed getting her children ready for their new school term.
Willoughby, who is said to be returning to the mid-morning stalwart on September 4, wrote in her most recent Wylde Moon newsletter: “It really has been a case of blink and you’ll miss it this summer – in every sense!
“I can feel myself clinging on with every fibre of my being as conversations about school start to drip feed back into our life. I even popped the obligatory September kit list on the fridge this morning having got the kids to try everything on to see what we need.
“I swear I only bought new football boots last term…their feet never stop growing!” she continued.
“We’re not quite at the end just yet though and with the last Bank Holiday hurrah incoming, I’ve got everything crossed for a bit of late sunshine so we can see the summer out with family and friends in the back garden.”
Back in July, it was reported that Willoughby was set to renew her contract on This Morning for a higher salary than the £700,000 a year she is believed to be currently paid by the broadcaster.
The spot alongside the Dancing on Ice host has remained vacant since Schofield resigned from ITV after confessing to an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a show runner.
Following the 61-year-old’s exit, Willoughby has predominantly presented the show alongside Irish host Craig Doyle, who fans have asked ITV to become Schofield’s full-time replacement.
