Tottenham are poised to make Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg their first summer signing, with Kyle Walker-Peters set to move the other way in a separate deal.

The clubs are close to finalising a £15million deal for Hojbjerg, while a £12m fee has been agreed for full-back Walker-Peters, who spent the second half of the season on loan at St. Mary's.

Hojbjerg has made it clear that he wants to join Jose Mourinho's side and personal terms are expected to be a formality once the clubs have settled the finer details of the deal.

The sale of Victor Wanyama and Eric Dier's move to centre-half have left Mourinho without a holding midfielder and the Spurs manager believes Hojbjerg can provide a platform for the likes of Giovani Lo Celso, Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko and Tanguy Ndombele – who Spurs insist is not for sale amid interest from Barcelona and Inter Milan.

Walker-Peters has impressed for Ralph Hasenhuttl's side since the Premier League restart and wants regular first-team football, having been a bit-part player since coming through the Spurs academy.

Spurs are also in talks with AC Milan over right-back Serge Aurier, who wants to leave the club and is reluctant to sign a new contract.

Spurs have quoted the Rossoneri €25m for the Ivorian – roughly what they paid Paris Staint-Germain three years ago – but the Italians are trying to push down the price.
