Hilarious scenes as Djokovic loses his car after match
Even the stars forget where they parked sometimes.
And that’s exactly what happened to Novak Djokovic at the Cincinnati Open on Friday.
As you can see above, Djokovic completely forgot where his car was parked as he was leaving to go home after his match with Grigor Dimitrov was suspended due to rain.
“Where are you!?” he shouts as he wanders aimlessly around the car park.
“Anyone seen a grey Tesla?” he asks people walking past.
One couple even compliment him on his match before he jokingly says: “You must have me mistaken for someone else, I’m not a player, I’m just looking for my car.”
Eventually he decides to re-trace his steps and finds it (rather inexplicably) right outside the gates to get into the ground!
“The only place we didn’t check!” he says.
Djokovic was forced to come back on Saturday and finish off his match with Dimitrov, winning 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
He then backed that up with a win over Milos Raonic to advance to the semi-finals.
Former champion Marin Cilic survived a rain-delayed three-setter of his own, the Croatian battling past Toronto semi-finalist Karen Khachanov 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 6-4.
Fourth seed Juan Martin Del Potro overcame Australian Nick Kyrgios 7-6(4) 6-7(6) 6-2, before going down to David Goffin 7-6(5), 7-6(4).
World No.2 Roger Federer, bidding for his eighth Cincinnati Open title, outlasted Leonardo Mayer of Argentina 6-1 7-6 (8-6) and faces compatriot Stan Wawrinka in the quarter-finals.
Wawrinka beat Marton Fucsovics of Hungary 6-4 6-3 in their third-round match.
