Heart-stopping moment woman falls into shark tank during feeding time

A woman running late for a meeting has plunged into a shark tank during feeding time at a Chinese shopping mall.

Video captured inside the Wuyue Plaza in Jiaxing, east China’s Zhejiang Province, shows the woman running along the footbridge before the shopping centre had opened for trading.

It’s understood a cover had been removed to feed the sharks, sending her plunging into the tank. Inside were several baby lemon sharks which can grow to be more than three metres.

In what sounds like the plot from a horror movie, the sharks began to swim over towards her before nearby security guards and bystanders manage to pull her from the water.

A spokesperson for the mall said that the passageway was off limits but the woman had taken it as a shortcut to her meeting.

“The gangway is off limits during feeding time but the employee was in a rush to get to a meeting.

“She was quickly rescued from the tank and did not suffer any injuries.”
