A father of three who died in a motorbike accident in Adelaide this week has been remembered as a devoted family man with a “heart of gold”.

Gerard Binek died in a crash at Vindana Road, Paralowie, in the city’s north, on Tuesday afternoon when his motorbike crashed into a tree.

This week, Mr Binek’s extended family launched a GoFundMe to cover his funeral costs.

Mr Binek’s sister in law, Meegan Mitchell, said her family was shocked by his death and wanted to help his partner Tereina and his boys to grieve without having to worry about money.

“Gerard was a fun loving, mischievous, cheeky young man with a heart of gold,” she wrote.

“He absolutely loved being a father and adored his three boys. Gerard brought joy and happiness to so many people.

“We are all shocked by the sudden loss of Gerard and would love to give him the funeral he deserves.”

As of Saturday morning, the fundraiser had delivered $3825 from a $10,000 target.

His death marks the 77th life lost on South Australia’s roads this year, according to SA Police.
