'He is going to kill me': Slain woman's harrowing texts revealed

Police have found the body of a 26-year-old woman whose boyfriend was charged earlier this month with killing her.

Emily Montgomery’s body was found on Saturday in Raleigh, North Carolina, the Apex Police Department said.

Jose Carlos Jacome-Granizo, 29, was arrested on December 10 and charged with first-degree murder in the woman’s death.

Ms Montgomery was a single mother who lived in Apex, a town in Wake County. She was reported missing after her family hadn’t seen or heard from her since November 25.

According to search warrants, Jacome-Granizo picked up Ms Montgomery on November 25, the News Observer reported.

The next day Ms Montgomery texted a friend saying that she and her boyfriend were not getting along.

One text message said: “It is going to happen he is going to kill me first”, a search warrant said.

Jacome-Granizo claimed he hadn’t seen his girlfriend since November 26, when he took her to a Thanksgiving dinner at his mother’s house.

He claimed Ms Montgomery refused to get out of the car because she hadn’t done her hair, the News Observer reported. When he came back to the car about half an hour later, she was gone, warrants said.

Police searched Jacome-Granizo’s Jeep Wrangler and found blood in the front seat, warrants said.

Jacome-Granizo is being held without bond in the Wake County jail. He could face the death penalty if he’s found guilty of murder.
