"We are grateful to the executive team at the New York City Department of Correction and Rikers Island for acting swiftly in taking him to Bellevue Hospital."
It's unclear if Weinstein will still appear in court this week as expected. He was scheduled to make an appearance and possibly testify about an alleged sexual assault from late 2005 to the middle of 2006 that could result in new charges, ABC News reported.
Two other alleged assaults from 2016 and another time period could be brought to court in the future, prosecutors noted.

Throughout 2024, Weinstein has been in and out of Bellevue Hospital as he dealt with a "myriad of health problems," his representative stated in July.
