Harry and Meghan heading to Australia this year
As the royal wedding euphoria continues to sweep the nation, Australians will be pleased to know they can catch a glimpse of the newlyweds in the flesh as they look set to descend on Sydney later this year.
The Duke of Sussex will head Down Under in October to unveil the 2018 Invictus Games in Sydney and although Kensington Palace is yet to confirm whether the Duchess of Sussex will be accompanying him, it is widely expected she will attend.
The international sporting event, created by Prince Harry in 2014, is exclusively for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women and will include a record 28 nations this year.
The event holds a special place in their hearts, with the 2017 event in Toronto the couple’s first public appearance together.
Last month, Meghan told competitors at the UK trials for the games that she was “really looking forward to” coming to Australia in what will be her first visit to the country.
Sydney will be the fourth city to host the Invictus Games, following London in 2014, Orlando in 2016, and Toronto last year.
