Tottenham striker Harry Kane has fired a warning to Manchester United and their rivals chasing Champions League qualification ahead of the resumption of the Premier League season.

As revealed by Standard Sport on Thursday, Tottenham will play Manchester United on Friday June 19 after the English top-flight confirmed the first full rounds of fixtures as part of Project Restart.

Before then, outstanding matches between Manchester City and Arsenal, Sheffield United and Aston Villa will be staged on June 17 – 100 days after the 2019-20 season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But for Kane, the wait to resume football has been much longer.

Kane sustained a serious hamstring injury in Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat at Southampton on New Year’s Day, as was ruled out for the rest of the campaign.

But the league’s suspension has allowed the Tottenham star to regain fitness, and with Spurs now only focussed on the Premier League having been eliminated from the Champions League and FA Cup, Kane says they are raring to go.

"We've got Man United first - we go back with a bang," he told Sky Sports.

"From our point of view we are not in any of the other competitions so we have got nine games to concentrate on picking up as many points and try and get into the Champions League spots."

"So at least all our focus is going to be on one competition.

"It feels like a pre-season, it has been good so far. I was doing individual training for a while and almost got to a stage where I was back with the team and then we had to stay at home. "

"It's been a chance for me to get fit, it has been six months since I have played a game so I haven't done that since I was about five years old."
