Harrison Ford Sends a Bold Political Message With Endorsement for Upcoming Election
On Saturday, Nov. 2, Harrison Ford joined the lengthening list of celebrities who have shared their thoughts on the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
With just days remaining until Election Day, the Indiana Jones star revealed which presidential candidate he has decided to support when he goes to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 5. The race between Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee, and former President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee, remained close at the time the 82-year-old actor shared his bold political message.

“Look, I’ve been voting for 64 years. Never really wanted to talk about it very much,” Ford said as his Saturday video message began. “But when dozens of former members of the Trump administration are sounding alarms saying, ‘For God’s sake, don’t do this again,’ you have to pay attention.”
The Star Wars actor said those former administration officials are “telling us something important.”

“These aren’t soft people,” he said. "They’re governors, generals. Standing up against the leader of the party that they spent their lives advocating for. For many of them, this will be the first time they’ve ever voted for someone who doesn’t have an ‘R’ next to their name. Because they know this really matters.”
The Fugitive star then said he has decided to cast his ballot for Harris. “The truth is this: Kamala Harris will protect your right to disagree with her about policies, or ideas. And then, as we have done for centuries, we’ll debate them. We’ll work on them together, and we’ll move forward.”
In contrast, Ford said Trump “demands unquestioning loyalty” and “says he wants revenge.”
“I’ve got one vote, same as anyone else,” Ford said as his video came to an end. “And I’m gonna use it to move forward. I’m gonna vote for Kamala Harris.”

Harris’ campaign shared Ford’s video message on X, formerly Twitter, on Saturday. It was one of three that the actor recorded in collaboration with the campaign, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
