Half-naked man filmed in bizarre chainsaw meltdown outside Bunnings

A man wearing only his underwear has been filmed launching a bizarre tirade, using a golf club to smash his car window before starting up a chainsaw outside a Perth Bunnings.

It’s understood the scenes started inside the nearby Bunnings Warehouse in Cannington when the 27-year-old got to the counter and tipped his items on the ground before stripping off his clothes.

He is then accused of jumping in his car, driving on the wrong side of the road and crashing into a fence in front of shocked onlookers about 5.45pm Thursday night.

“When he managed to turn the chainsaw on – everyone just took a step back,” witness Feraidun Hakimi told 7 News.

“It was pretty like scary… it was weird, unusual behaviour, you don’t see it every day.”

Footage captured by Mr Hakimi shows the agitated driver launching a baby seat from the car, shouting “pterodactyl, pterodactyl eyes”.

Police arrived within minutes, screaming at him to get on the ground.

He was eventually taken into custody before being transported to hospital for evaluation.

He’s now facing drug and traffic charges.
