If you haven’t heard of “strawberry girl” makeup yet, you will. Coming right on the heels of latte makeup and blueberry milk nails, strawberry girl or strawberry makeup is the latest beauty trend to blow up.
The hashtag #strawberrymakeup currently has more than 227 million views on TikTok and refers to when you use red and pink shades for the majority of your makeup. Juicy lips and overly-blushed cheeks are essential! If you love this naturally flushed look, Hailey Bieber is the one to thank.
The 26-year-old model and entrepreneur has been regularly posting strawberry-inspired makeup looks on her Instagram and TikTok for weeks with captions like “strawberry girl summer 🍓.” She even shared a video tutorial for how she gets the look. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that her skincare brand, rhode, just dropped a Strawberry Glaze flavor of its popular Peptide Lip Treatment that’s inspired by Krispy Kreme’s Strawberry Glaze doughnut. Spoiler alert: It’s already sold out, but you can join the waitlist for a restock.
However, you can still recreate Hailey’s juicy strawberry lip look for yourself with just two products. Grab a clear gloss (rhode’s other flavors of its high-shine lip treatment are also in stock) and NYX Professional Makeup’s Slim Lip Pencil in Nude Truffle.
Hailey used the long-wear lip pencil in her most recent TikTok to line her pout before topping it off with the rhode lip treatment. According to its product description, the “lip liner does not tug, feather, bleed or fade” but instead “hydrates and conditions dry lips while increasing the wear and intensity of your lip color.” The best part about it? It’s just $5.
The brownish nude hue, available at Ulta and NYX, looks gorgeous on a ton of different skin tones and provides the ideal base for either a clear gloss or any strawberry shade of your choosing. And if a $5 drugstore find is good enough for Mrs. Bieber, you can bet we’re snatching it up.
