A 20-year-old woman was threatened at gunpoint after she was approached by a large group of males in southwest Sydney, police say.

The woman was approached by a group of as many as 20 males after she met two teenage friends in the suburb of Narellan around 11.30pm on Friday.

Two males, one carrying a gun and the other armed with a machete, threatened the 20-year-old and demanded her hat, bag and shoes, police said.

The male carrying the gun was skinny, looked about 17 and had a New Zealand accent, police said.

Police said the male with the machete had a muscular build and looked about 16.
