Gun pulled in western Sydney robbery

A man armed with a handgun has mugged a pedestrian in western Sydney.

A 49-year-old man was walking in Merrylands West on Sunday night when another man got out of car and punched him in the chest, before pulling a gun from his waistband and demanding his phone and wallet.

The pedestrian handed over the goods and the thief got back in his car - which had a woman inside - and drove off.
