Graphic design job candidate’s ‘genius’ application impresses boss
The coronavirus pandemic has resulted in jobs lost all around the world; but some people are finding clever ways to navigate the crowded jobs market.
UK-based online printing firm Instantprint revealed on Twitter that it received “one of the most creative job applications ever” for its graphic design job opening.
“The candidate sent us a roller banner of herself so we could visualise working with her,” said Instantprint creative lead Jennie.
“Genius.”

It’s not revealed whether the candidate got the job, but many Twitter users expressed their well-wishes and support for the creative candidate.
“Hope she got the job!” said several Tweeters.
Replying to the comment, Instantprint’s creative lead confirmed that the candidate had secured an interview.

It seems other Instantprint staff had also taken to the candidate – without ever having met her before.
“Such a creative way to stand out,” said Jennie.
“We can't even roll the banner away because everyone keeps wanting a look. Talking about making a great first impression.”

The banner was also perfect in a world of social distancing.
“It’s a great way of meeting someone face-to-face without being face-to-face,” said Jennie.
